Information Industry and Technology Updates
The information industries form an increasingly important cluster
of industries in most developed economies. Technological change,
market and industry growth are rapid. To track developments and
understand the information industries it is essential to have a
framework for ordering thoughts and data, and a solid mpirical
base.
The ICT Map is used by researchers at CSES as the framework for
analysis. It is a development of the IT Map published in Houghton,
J.W., Pucar, M. and Knox, C. 1996, Mapping the Information
Industries, Productivity Commission, Canberra, July 1996, and
elsewhere.
Using it as the framework for our analysis we developed a
series of statistical updates on important aspects of information
industries and technologies.
