In the first stages of this project, VISES assembled information on
microeconomic, macroeconomic and disease-based studies of the impact
of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) on worker attendance and
productivity, as well as the prevalence and incidence of NCDs in six
APEC economies: Australia, China, Malaysia, Peru, Philippines and
the USA. Background papers reviewed the literature and information
available was gathered for each country. An extensive bibliography was
compiled for each country and data assembled.
